I'll stamp all over 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex twice unified title holder Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead attacked former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, consistently making substantial paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would derail the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really happening.
